Three Reasons Why We’re Thankful for Hoosier Solar Energy

By Dave Conway

During the holiday season, we’re constantly feeling extra grateful for everything in our lives. Green Alternatives is always appreciative of solar energy, but in the spirit of Thanksgiving, we wanted to make sure we highlighted the benefits of solar that we are most thankful for.

Solar Energy is Creating a Cleaner Environment

Traditional forms of energy use a procedure that emits harmful gases into the atmosphere, exacerbating climate change and its effects. On the bright side, solar power is the cleanest and most sustainable energy source available. As more and more people install solar panels, the less we will have to rely on the burning of fossil fuels, which can only lead to a healthier planet full of cleaner air.

Solar Brings Incentives to Homeowners

As some of our customers may know, installing solar panels can reduce, and in some cases, eliminate those costly electricity bills. Not only that but there are other benefits to solar panel installations, such as the federal solar tax credit.

Solar is Creating More Jobs

Any fast-emerging industry will help the local economy and bring in some excellent career opportunities for our Indiana residents! There are over 230,000 solar workers in the United States, according to the 2020 National Solar Job Census, and there were more than 3,300 industry jobs in the state of Indiana. Likewise, there has been a total of $1.2 billion invested into solar in the Hoosier State.

All in all, solar energy is here to help us in several areas of life, from the environment to our home to the economy. We are incredibly thankful that so many of you trust the Green Alternatives team to help you harness the power of the sun. We love taking all our customers on their solar energy journey!
