Take a look at trending topics, and you’ll see that environmentally-friendly companies like Drunk Elephant and products like Bamboo Tumbler are gaining the attention of consumers. More companies are making environmentally conscious decisions like switching to solar energy. In our last blog, we discussed the reasons companies are making that transition. Those reasons included an interest in “going green” for a more sustainable business, new legislation making it more affordable and solar panels being a good return on investment.
Today, our team at Green Alternatives wants to take a deeper look at the corporations leading the way in clean energy adoption. This article from Solar Power World says, “There have been over 47,000 corporate installations nationwide, now making up 14% of all installed solar capacity in the U.S.” Companies are setting ambitious goals to lower their environmental impact by switching to 100% renewable energy and aiming for net zero emissions.

These corporate leaders are well on their way to reaching their environmental goals, with Meta achieving 100% renewables in 2020 and others making huge strides. Microsoft, for example, has increased its solar capacity by 665% since 2019, according to this article. If you’re looking to create an energy strategy, you may find this entry in Harvard Business Review helpful.
Tech and retail corporations are paving the way. However, solar energy is a feasible and beneficial option for any business. We expect corporate solar adoption to continue increasing at a faster pace for the foreseeable future.
